The formal school day lasts from 8.40am to 3.25pm for children up to Year 4 and to 4.35pm for children in Years 5 and 6. Supervision is available from 8.00am until 6.30pm.
After school there is a wide range of extra-curricular activities in which children may participate. An additional fee is required for peripatetic music and dance tuition, tennis coaching and horse riding. We have also recently added fencing and gymnastics to our programme with external coaches coming in to take small groups.
Other extra-curricular activities, however, are not chargeable in this way. They include football, rugby, netball, cricket, cross-country, swimming, orchestra, choir, history, chess, craft, art, computing and dance.
These clubs mainly involve children from Years 3 to 6 although we have recently introduced additional clubs such as choir, percussion and multi-sports to Years 1 and 2. There is a daily period of supervised study available to those children who wish to do their homework in school.
Participation in study and clubs means that Key Stage 2 children are usually involved in activities until 5.30pm.
