Mddle School Girls have had a fantastic week. Year 7 girls were crowned Mid Essex Cross Country Champions and 2nd in Mid Essex Hockey. Year 8 girls also gained 2nd in Mid Essex Hockey as well as 2nd in Mid Essex Championships for Athletics. Read more ...

Year 7 girls -Mid Essex Cross Country Champions

On Friday 29th February the year 7 & 8 competed in the mid Essex Cross Country Championships, at Hylands Park. Yr 7’s managed to run 1500m on a tough hilly course. Over 150 runners were in the race. Charlotte Burnham stormed to the finish line coming 2nd, followed by Gabby Oxlade coming 3rd. Elizabeth Nelmes finished in 6th position, followed by Maddie Taylor in 19th place. In the team event the year 7’s came 1st overall beating 20 schools in the local area.

Year 8 girls-2nd in Mid Essex Championships

The year 8’s managed to run 2000m, again with over 150 runners. They managed to come 2nd overall.

This is a fantastic achievement from all girls involved. The organiser of the event commented on the talent of the New Hall runners and said how we stood out from the opposition.

Year 7 girls-2nd in Mid Essex Hockey

On Thursday 28th February the year 7 hockey team took part in the MESSSA hockey tournament. We won three matches 6-0 against William De Ferrers School, 1-0 against St Martins and 3-0 against Sandon. In the game against Chelmsford County High we drew 0-0 and lost 1-0 to Brentwood. In the competition New Hall finished 2nd, beating Chelmsford County High.

Year 8 girls-2nd in Mid Essex Hockey

Congratulations to the under 13 hockey team who were runners up in the mid Essex Area Hockey tournament on 7th February. New Hall beat St Martins 2-0 and Great Baddow 1-0 before losing to Chelmsford County High School 3-1 in an exciting and close last game.

There were some excellent goals by Nadia Wheadon and Alexandra Marler and all the team should be proud of their skill full performances and excellent team spirit.
